Instructions

Do not eat raw brownie batter. You will need: 1/4 cup water. 1/3 cup vegetable oil. 1 egg (For cakelike brownies, use 1/4 cup water, 1/3 cup vegetable oil and 2 eggs. 1. Heat. Heat your oven to 350 degrees F if you have a shiny metal pan or 325 degrees F for dark, nonstick or glass pan. Grease bottom of pan with cooking spray or shortening. In a medium bowl, stir brownie mix (with walnuts), water, oil and egg until well blended. Spread in pan. 2. Squeeze. Squeeze the caramel pouch for 10 seconds or until softened (do not microwave). Cut off 1/4-inch tip from a corner of the pouch. Squeeze caramel lengthwise onto batter in 4 straight lines, using all of the caramel. Gently draw the edge of a knife crosswise through caramel and batter in 3 or 4 straight lines, alternating the direction as shown. 3. Bake. Bake as directed in chart or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Let cool. If you want to cut warm brownies easily, use a plastic knife and short sawing motions. Store tightly covered. Pan size: 8 x 8 inch; Bake time: 35-38 minutes; Pan size: 9 x 9 inch; Bake time: 31-34 minutes; Pan size: 11 x 7 inch; Bake time: 29-32 minutes. For easy cleanup.
