Seasoning Mix, Southern-Style, Greens & Kale

Instructions

You will need: 2 pounds of collard greens or kale (de-stemmed and stripped) Optional: Smoked meat (1 ham hock. Turkey wing or 4 cup diced bacon). Directions: Makes About 10 Servings 1. In a large pot, bring 3 cups of water and smoked meat (optional) to a boil. Add diced greens and Greens & Kale Seasoning Mix. Stir and allow greens to wilt. 2 Cover pot. Simmer greens on low heat, stirring occasionally for 12 hours or until tender. Add water as needed. Serving Suggestion: Roasted Brussels Sprouts: Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F. Trim and halve lenthwise 1 1/2 pounds of Brussels sprouts. Toss Brussels sprouts with 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of Green & Kale Seasoning Mix and toss to coat evenly. Pour the mixture on a sheet pan and roast for 18 to 20 minutes or until tender. Shake the pan every 5 minutes to brown the sprouts evenly.
