Instructions
You Will Need: 2 cups water. Stove-Top Directions: 1. Heat water and butter to a rapid boil in 2-quart saucepan. Remove from heat. 2. Stir potatoes until well blended. 3. Cover; let stand 2 minutes to thicken. Microwave Directions: Do not leave microwave unattended while cooking potatoes. 1. Add water to 1-1/2-quart microwavable casserole dish. 2. Microwave on high 2:00. 3. Add potatoes; stir until well blended. Microwave on high 2:30 to 3:30. Caution: Handle carefully; dish may be hot! 4. Stir. Microwave times developed using 1000-watt microwave ovens. Due to differences in microwave ovens, cooking times may need to be adjusted. Make it Like Betty: For stiffer potatoes, let stand 3 to 5 minutes. For less stiff potatoes, stir in more milk, 1 tablespoon at a time. For food safety and quality, follow the cooking directions. Refrigerate leftovers. Tear open at notch.
