Made with ingredients including breadcrumbs, and spices like paprika, and celery seed, this seasoned coating mix delivers the iconic flavor of OLD BAY with an irresistible crispy crunch.From crab cakes to salmon cakes, meatballs, turkey burgers, chicken breasts, homemade fish sticks, and more, there are so many ways to enjoy the craveable crunch and flavor of this convenient seasoned coating mix. Use it anywhere you’d already think to use breadcrumbs, or as a crunchy topping for macaroni and cheese and casseroles. Try with baked and air fryer fish too, like cod, tilapia, or salmon. However you use it, it’s another simple and satisfying way to enjoy more OLD BAY.
Instructions
You'll Need: 1/2 cup Coating Mix | 4 to 5 fish fillets (about 2 lbs.) Moisten fish with water. Shake off excess. Coat fish on all sides with coating mix (discard any remaining coating). Place fish on foil-lined sheet pan. Bake as directed below until fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. (No need to flip fish.) Cook Time Chart: Fish Fillets: Oven (Set temperature to 400 degrees F): 15 mins; Air Fry (Set temperature to 350 degrees F): 12 mins. 2 lbs. Boneless Chicken Breast: Oven (Set temperature to 400 degrees F): 20-25 mins; Air Fry (Set temperature to 350 degrees F): 15-20 mins. 1-1/2 lbs. Chicken Breast Tenderloins: Oven (Set temperature to 400 degrees F): 12-14 mins; Air Fry (Set temperature to 350 degrees F): 10 mins. Note: Cook times may need to be adjusted. Internal temperature must reach 145 degrees F for fish or 165 degrees F chicken. Air Fry Directions: Coat fish or chicken as directed. Place in single layer in air fryer basket, working in batches if needed to avoid overloading basket. Air fry as directed above. Tips & Tricks: Try brushing fish with mayonnaise or dip in egg wash before coating. Try with cod, tilapia or salmon. Mix-In Usages: Use this Coating Mix to replace breadcrumbs when preparing crab cakes, chicken meatballs, or turkey burgers. Crunchy Topping: Sprinkle Coating Mix on top of baked macaroni & cheese or cheesy potato and vegetable casseroles.
