Instructions

Schnitzel: Bake, fry or air fry. Prep time: 10 min. Cook Time: 14-16 min. Servings: 4-6. Shopping List: 6 to 8 boneless, thin-cut pork chops, or chicken or turkey cutlets (a cutlet is a thin, boneless slice of meat). 1 cup buttermilk (our favorite) or water. 1 egg. Your favorite garnishes or condiments (we love grainy mustard and lemon wedges, or toasted buns and slaw). Prep: 1. Place the Mr. Schnitzel dry mix in a shallow bowl (wide enough to easily dredge each cut). Whisk together the buttermilk (or other liquid) and egg in a separate shallow bowl. 2. Working in batches, use one hand to dredge the cutlets in the dry seasoning, then use the other hand to dip them into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drain. Give the meat a second roll in the dry mix to coat. Cook: Fry the cutlets in 350 degrees F vegetable oil until the crust is golden brown and the internal temperature is 145 degrees F (pork) or 165 degrees F (chicken or turkey). Bake cutlets at 450 degrees F; coat the baking sheet and both sides of the meat with spray oil before baking for 10 minutes. Gently flip the meat, spritz the top with oil, and bake for another 6 minutes, or until deeply golden and crisp. Air fry cutlets at 400 degrees F - 425 degrees F (depending on your cooker). Coat the cooking surface and both sides of the meat with spray oil before air frying for 7-8 minutes. Gently flip the meat and spritz the top with oil, and air fry another 5-6 minutes, or until deeply golden and crisp. Kick it Up: For a zippier flavor, whisk 2 tablespoons Creole mustard and a few dashes of hot sauce into the egg-buttermilk mixture. How to serve Schnitzel? With...
