Steel Cut Oats, Gluten Free, Whole Grain
Instructions
Makes the World's Best Oatmeal at Home: Bring water and salt to a boil. Add Steel Cut Oats, reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes (or longer for creamier oatmeal). Remove from heat and let stand for 2 minutes. 1 Serving: 1/4 cup oats; 3/4 cup water; pinch of salt. 2 Servings: 1/2 cup oats; 1-1/2 cups water; pinch of salt. 3 Servings: 3/4 cup oats; 2-1/4 cups water; 1/4 tsp of salt. 4 Servings: 1 cup oats; 3 cups of water; 1/4 tsp of salt. Steel Cut Oats in the Slow Cooker: Combine 4 cups water, 1 cup oats and 1/4 tsp salt in a 4-6 quart slow cooker. Cover with lid and cook on low for 7-8 hours or overnight. Makes 4 servings. Store in a cool, dry place. Keeps best refrigerated or frozen after opening. Tear to open.
