Blueberry Strata
This decadent brunch star needs to sit 12 hours before baking. Put it together the night before and pop it in the oven for a sweet, rich start to your morning.
Ingredients
- 12 Slices Firm White Bread, Cut Into 1/2” Cubes (About 8 Cups)
- 2 Cups Fresh Blueberries, Divided
- 1 8-Ounce Package Cream Cheese, Cut Into Small Cubes
- 8 Eggs
- 2 1/2 Cups Milk
- 2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1 Cup Pancake Syrup, Divided
- 1/4 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
Directions
Spray 9x13” baking dish with cooking spray. Spread half the bread cubes onto bottom of dish. Cover with 1 cup blueberries, cream cheese and remaining bread. In medium bowl, whisk eggs, milk and cinnamon until well blended. Add 1/3 cup syrup and sugar; mix well. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate 12 hours or overnight. Bake strata, covered at 350°, 30 minutes. Uncover and bake another 30 minutes, or until center is set and top is lightly browned. Bring remaining syrup and blueberries to boil in saucepan, stirring constantly; reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour over individual servings of strata.
