Instructions
Directions: Step 1: Combine rice, water, and butter (optional) in medium saucepan according to chart. Step 2: Season with salt if desired. Bring to a boil. Step 3: Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer 15 minutes or until all water is absorbed. Step 4: Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Servings: 2-3: 1/2 cup rice, 1 cup water or broth, 2 tsp butter or oil. 4-6: 1 cup rice, 2 cups water or broth, 1 tbsp butter or oil. 8-10: 2 cups rice, 4 cups water or broth, 2 tbsp butter or oil. To retain vitamins. Do not rinse before or drain after cooking. Note: For high altitudes, use slightly more water and allow 5 minutes longer cooking time. Store in a cool, dry location.
