Instructions

Step 4: Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes before serving. *Microwave: Step 1: Combine 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water in a 2-quart microwave-safe dish. Step 2: Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 15 to 20 minutes. Step 3: Remove from microwave and let stand covered for 5 minutes before serving. Servings: 2-3; 1/2 cup rice; 1 cup water or broth; 2 tsp butter or oil. Servings: 4-6; 1 cup rice; 2 cups water or broth; 1 tbsp butter or oil. Servings: 8-10; 2 cups rice; 4 cups water or broth; 2 tbsp butter or oil. * Microwave ovens vary. Adjust cooking times as needed. To retain vitamins, do not rinse before or drain after cooking.
