Honey Charred Cauliflower with Smoked Spanish Paprika
Honey bees are considered premier pollinators attributed with pollinating one-third of the global food supply, including the star of this dish. The dark, caramel-like flavor is enhanced by the honey-based glaze and punched up with smoky paprika s and tangy orange juice.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teasppon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon Spanish smoked paprika
- 1 lb. cauliflower florets, cut into bite size pieces
- 2 tablespoons water
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 orange, juiced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Heat a 12 inch sauté pan with olive oil and add sea salt, red pepper flakes and Spanish paprika. Lay cauliflower in 1 layer on the bottom of the pan. Cook over medium high heat to char cauliflower, approximately 3 minutes. Flip each piece and repeat for 3 minutes. Add water, honey and orange juice and stir to coat. Cover for 1 minute. Remove cover and finish cooking over high heat to reduce liquid for 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
