Cranberry, Apple, & SausageWorks Sausage Stuffing
Liven up packaged stuffing mix with fresh herbs, fruits, vegetables, and our flavorful SausageWorks Italian sausage. A classic, timeless holiday tradition.
Ingredients
- 1 Pound Sausageworks Italian Sausage, Decased
- 1 Box Stuffing Mix
- 1/2 Cup (1 Stick) Butter, Unsalted
- 2 Medium Onions, Finely Diced
- 3 Cups Celery, Chopped
- 6 Cups Leeks, Coarsely Chopped
- 4 Apples, Peeled, Cored And Chopped
- 6 Teaspoons Poultry Seasoning
- 2 Teaspoons Fresh Rosemary Leaves, Chopped
- 2 Teaspoons Fresh Sage Leaves, Chopped
- 2 Teaspoons Fresh Parsley Leaves,
- 2 Cups Dried Cranberries
- 2 Cups Vegetable Stock
- Salt And Freshly Ground Black Pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°. Melt butter in large skillet. Add onions, celery, leeks, apples and sauté. Add sausage and continue cooking, about 10 minutes, breaking up sausage with spoon. Add poultry seasoning, fresh herbs and dried cranberries and combine. Pour in stuffing mix and vegetable stock. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Place into buttered casserole dish and bake 45 minutes. Serve warm.
